Welcome to China! James and me riding along the diversion which took us along a river bed...
Er. there appears to be a river in the way (out of shot)...
Take two, this time on my bike. Note truck stuck in river in background!!
Looking back at the scene from where we've come. The truck is well and truly stuck.
Can't believe everyone's made it through the river with no offs!
No wonder I'm smiling; I didn't have to do it! Fabian's face tells a different story!
After 'rivergate' we continue into China. Where the **** is the tarmac?!!
Riding in a group means we get cool photos from those with helmet cams (actually, I think Bene took this freehand as she rode along!)
We finally reach Kashgar and have dinner at 11pm after a day of horrendous roads and crazy officialdom.
Who cares, it's beer and we need it, badly!
Group photo outside 'Newland Travel', the agency who are guiding us through China.
Muza takes us to a place in Kashgar where everyone can get their bike niggles sorted.
Not at all comfortable on Bene's heavy bike - give me my little XT back!
Getting stuck in during the mechanics session.
Curious children peer through the railings at us.
Bene and I have helped enough, time to take a seat and watch the boys at work.
Riding back to the hotel after a day doing work on the bikes. At each junction we are joined by more and more bikes.
Muza takes us to this fantastic Uyghur restaurant - beautiful wood carvings throughout.
Arriving at the famous Kashgar Animal Market - it's certainly bustling!
So where are all the animals?
There are plenty of melons...
Some nose wrinkling going on - it's a bit whiffy!
I'll take it!
Let the haggling commence!
