Meal at Jack's local in Lisanza, Varese. Our first night in Italy.
We are joined by our friends Alex and Massimo, from MotoVarese, who we met last summer, as well as their mechanic, Evan, and their racing team rider, Aussie Russell. Jack's ex-flatmate and EasyJet colleague, Chris, also joins in the merrymaking.
Matt dives in to dessert - he was quite excited!
Trip down to MotoVarese while Jack's at work. They fix a mechanical problem on Em's bike (we didn't even know we had) - gulp!!
Jessie has arrived safely and is swiftly taken to the pizzeria down the road for much needed sustinence.
Matt's food-related excitement continues...
Four of the five muskateers ready to depart from Jack's flat (Matt is taking photo).
10pm, end of day one. Having pitched tents in the dark, we are dead on our feet.
Matt's perked up by the plate of grilled meat!
Morning after the night before in the 'dog soldiers' campsite.
Who says bikers are cool?!! Jessie goes for the 'cossack' vibe!
A moment of contemplation (er, shelter from rain) in church in Florence while Jack sorts out somewhere to stay.

The gay 1980s Springsteen?
Taking a turn about Florence...
Matt and James brave the downpour for a self-take on the bridge (photo does not do justice to how much it was peeing down!!)
Lemons in the foyer of the hotel... couldn't resist!!!
Comedy moment, as we have to push the bikes through the Piazza, past il Duomo, to the hotel as it is a pedestrianised area. It's wet, we're soaked, and bloody hot!
Matthew blends in to the facade of the duomo - perfect colour coordination!
Soggy but happy, by Ponte Vecchio.
Relieved to find the bikes still there in the morning, albeit squashed in. Jack not so relieved - his helmet is gone : (
Matthew sweats it as he pushes the beast back to our hotel for loading.
Jack attempts a running start! (Note new open faced helmet, 30 euros, bought at very short notice!)
Matthew is devestated that a local carabinieri refuses his request for a photo with a fellow officer. Cue, Matt 'replicating' his style.... badly!!
Stopping for lunch in Tuscan hill top village.
The last supper before Matthew heads for home : (
